My name is Dexter Williams, and I'm a screenwriter from Durham, North Carolina. How long have you’ve been writing horror scripts? I have been writing horror scripts for a decade (ten years) What draws you to the genre? What draws me to the genre is the concept of having the living daylights scared out of me. Fear of the unknown is very appealing to me, and I love to write screenplays that explore that concept in a most unique way. Tell us about your “Enslavement” series? Please introduce yourself, where you are from, and what you do Hi! I’m Owen Kent. I’m 25 years old and I love to make movies! I currently live in Berkeley, California where I operate a production space for filmmakers, photographers and other types of artists. I grew up in Colorado and moved to Berkeley when I was 16 to go to UC Berkeley. I studied film at Berkeley and loved it so much out here that I decided to stay after graduation. I originally was planning on studying math, but after a few years, I wasn’t too happy being alone with my math book breaking computer codes, so I decided to follow my passion for film and focus on that full time. How long have you been a filmmaker? I made my fir

Tell us what you do Cecilia? I’m a horror academic and independent researcher. What’s your background and fascination in this subject? Well, I’m a data analyst by day, and my degree is in journalism, so my first instinct is to analyze something and look for potential points of investigation. I love spinning theories about media. I think it’s an enlightening and playful thing to be able to propose a thesis and make connections in a movie or a text that people haven’t thought of. Being able to open up new theo

Zombie Boy: A Tribute to an Unforgotten Soul

It was only a few weeks ago when I reached out to Canadian artist Rick Genest for a podcast interview to be featured on The Horror Tour Guide. Sad to say this day will never come. For years I followed “Zombie Boy” admiring his bravado and beauty. He was a man that stood behind what he loved and who he was. He quickly excelled as his destiny became more evident and prevalent. He was a model, actor, musician and world Guiness record breaker for most number of insect and bone tattoos. He was a featured in Ronin 47 (opposite Keanu Reeves) and in Lady Gaga’s “Born this way” Music video in 2011. He modeled for Mugler and Jay-Z’s Rock-a-wear line. On August 2, 2018 just days before his birthday on

HAXAN

Häxan (Danish title: Heksen; English title: The Witches or Witchcraft Through the Ages) is a 1922 Swedish-Danish documentary-style silent horror film written and directed by Benjamin Christensen. Based partly on Christensen's study of the Malleus Maleficarum, a 15th-century German guide for inquisitors, Häxan is a study of how superstition and the misunderstanding of diseases and mental illness could lead to the hysteria of the witch-hunts. The film was made as a documentary but contains dramatised sequences that are comparable to horror films.
