Zombie Boy: A Tribute to an Unforgotten Soul

It was only a few weeks ago when I reached out to Canadian artist Rick Genest for a podcast interview to be featured on The Horror Tour Guide. Sad to say this day will never come. For years I followed “Zombie Boy” admiring his bravado and beauty. He was a man that stood behind what he loved and who he was. He quickly excelled as his destiny became more evident and prevalent.

He was a model, actor, musician and world Guiness record breaker for most number of insect and bone tattoos. He was a featured in Ronin 47 (opposite Keanu Reeves) and in Lady Gaga’s “Born this way” Music video in 2011. He modeled for Mugler and Jay-Z’s Rock-a-wear line. On August 2, 2018 just days before his birthday on August 7th, Rick Genest was found dead at his home in Montreal, Canada. I later learned shortly after his death that Rico was a poet and loved writing. A beautiful soul and mind.

My deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, admirers and fans. Today on August 18, 2018 In honor of his memory and his family wishes that you think of him and light a candle for him. To a wonderful person, may your beautiful soul Sleep in Peace Rick Stephan Genest aka Zombie Boy.
